Greetings!
Today, we celebrate mothers all over the world, and there is no one more deserving, right? This is the person that wiped our noses, kissed our boo boos, and listened to us complain when our friends didn’t treat us right. The one who will fight for you, cry with you and even give you that extra push when we need it. My mother is deceased, but the one thing I remember most about my mama more than anything else is…I remember my mama praying over me…
And she didn’t play with it either. She would put a prayer down. She prayed as if she believed God heard her prayers. I’m not even sure she knew that she was an intercessor… it was just natural for her. And because of the prayers, I heard her pray when I was growing up, I have a heart for prayer today.
We need those mothers of yesterday…the ones that looked out for the neighbor’s children as if they were her own. The ones who could speak a word of correction and the parents backed her up. The ones that believed in standing on the word of God, and believed that God’s word had power. I just believe that God has always had a special place in His heart for women… especially mothers. God made mothers unique…different from any other creation.
I wonder what it would be like if women understood the power of their prayers. Matthew 21:22 says, "And whatever things you ask in prayer, believing, you will receive.” When we pray believing God…He moves. John 14:13-14 also says, “And whatever you ask in My Name, that I will do, that the father may be glorified in the Son. If you ask anything in my name, I will do it.” What if we held God to His word? What if we actually believed that our prayers would make a difference? What if we banded together all across the nation to pray for our children, for our communities, for our families? The Bible says the effectual fervent prayers of the righteous availeth much (Jam. 5:16). Just thinking about that is powerful. God is looking for a remnant…a people who believe. You and I…we are that people. Will you answer the call…
Until next time...
Be blessed
