A Better Way...

Greetings!

There is a song that says, When I think about Jesus and what He's done for me, when I think about Jesus and how He set me free, I can dance, dance, dance all night. I love that song. Because it says exactly what I feel inside. Sometimes, life can get heavy and it's hard to maintain a good attitude when your problems are weighing you down. But, there is a better way!

When I focus my thoughts on Jesus...it does something to my spirit. I can't keep feeling bad, or sad, or angry. For me, it is impossible to praise and pout at the same time. When I start singing and praying God's word back to Him, it changes not only me, but it also changes the atmosphere around me and that affects everyone that comes in contact with me.

We choose how life is going to affect us. I'm not saying that we won't have bad days, we absolutely will. We are not living in this world alone, and dealing with people can be trying at best, but God calls us to love one another in the good times and in the bad times. It's easy to love the loveable.

If you mistreat me, I still have to love you...not because I want to, but because that is what I am commanded to do. I love the Lord more than I dislike what you may do to me. I have learned to let God fight my battles because He always wins.

We just have to trust the God who created it all to create a better way for us.

Until next time...

Be blessed

Just for me...

Greetings!

Today is Resurrection Sunday. Many people call it "Easter," but the people of God know that it means much more than a day to dress up and visit the family. Today is symbolic of the day Jesus Christ rose from the grave, and that is good news because it means that He forever conquered death...not just for Him, but for all of us. Praise God!

In John 3:16 it says, "For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." What Jesus did on that cross said that He loved us more than He loved His own life. He sacrificed His life so that we could have eternal life with Him. Nobody else could have done that. Just for me....

The amazing thing is that because we believe that the shed blood of Jesus Christ saved us, and we have repented of our sins and asked for forgiveness, all of our sins have been erased. We have been forgiven. In the eyes of God, it is like we have never sinned. We get a complete do-over. Just for me....

Once we understand that even if I (make it personal) was the only person left on the earth, God would have still sent Jesus to save me, it changes us. You can't believe that and still feel the same. To know that the Father loves me that much, that even before I was born He already had a plan in place to save me. Oh my goodness! I am so overwhelmed by His grace and His love toward us.

Just for me...

Until next time...

Be blessed

Resurrected

Greetings!

This is the beginning of what Christians call "Holy Week." In this week, we celebrate the life, death, and resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Hallelujah!

Typically, during this week, we set aside special time to be with the Lord. He has done so much for us, the least we can do is spend some time talking with Him, and just allowing Him to minister to our spirits. We need that time with Him. It helps us to stay focused.

I am a published author and inspirational speaker. Every time I say that I want to shout, because I know that if it had not been for the Lord--none of it would be so. God brought to life a dream I had as a child. He knew exactly when to bring that gift out of me. I didn't even know it was a gift...it was just something I did for fun. God let me see that everything about me was planned and that He had not forgotten what He spoke into my spirit a long time ago. God gave me that dream, but I had to learn that it was not about me...it was actually for Him.

My book, Let My Life Be A Testimony, was published in 2008, and that's where it stayed...in 2008. Other than a book signing at my church, I basically did nothing with it. Then, eight years later when I had pretty much gotten over the idea of giving up my day job and being a writer, God resurrected that dream. He began to put people in my life that encouraged and motivated me to keep going. He began opening doors and providing resources...seemingly out of nowhere. God is so strategic. Everything He does has a purpose in His plan for us. I have a journal coming out in a few weeks and it's all because I submitted my dream to the Lord, and allowed Him to take control. Nothing is too hard for God. If He could bring Lazarus from the grave...He can surely resurrect a dream or two.

Don't give up on your dream, and don't let anyone else cause you to doubt what God has spoken to you. The Bible says that our gifts will make room for us and bring us before great men. I am a believer.

Until next time...

Be blessed

Nobody but Jesus

Greetings!

Sundays are my favorite day of the week. I know we can praise and worship anytime we want to--and I do. But, there is something about praising and worshipping with a group of people who love the Lord like you do. Today, was one of those days. The Spirit of the Lord took over and interrupted the service...and that's exactly what should happen. We cannot be so tied to tradition that every service is just like every other service, and we shouldn't expect that. We have to go into each service as if it was our last. We have to praise like there is nobody but Jesus in the room...

I don't want to hold anything back from God because He hasn't held anything back from me, and when it comes down to it...He is the reason that we do anything. He has done so much and given so much for us...that praise is the least we can do. The thing is...we can't be so worried about being watched that it affects how we praise God. That can't be our concern. I have heard people almost attack others because they are not praising the way they think they should. I don't really know who "they" are, but they are not the praise police. God did not elect a group to go about changing the way people praise and worship to fit into some imaginary mold. Our praise is not going to look like anyone else's and that's a good thing...it is as unique as we are. God made us all different for a reason.

This week, I just want to lift up my hands and open my heart to nobody but Jesus. He deserves our undivided attention. Our time here on earth is so limited, and I don't want to keep wasting it on things that don't matter. The way we praise and worship is not as important as if we praise and worship. Do whatever the Lord leads you to do...and don't worry about nobody but Jesus.

Until next time...
