Pray

Greetings!

This is going to be a short blog post today. I only have one message for you, and that is...pray.

That's it. God is calling on us to step into the office of intercessor and to pray for those who can't find the words to pray for themselves. We have to believe that the things we have prayed for and will pray for--God will bring to pass. Sometimes....actually most of the time we are not going to see the things we have prayed for. That's what having faith means. Faith is knowing that God will even though we don't see it.

I think the problem for most of us is that we believe that we don't deserve the mercy and grace that God bestows on us every day, and that's probably true. But God's love for us says differently. That love sent His one and only Son, Jesus Christ, to the cross to die a death He didn't deserve, but one He did willingly. And because Jesus did that....we have to know that God hears and that He will respond.

We are not disappointments to Him. He loves everything about us...even those things we don't like about ourselves. He made us and we are perfect in His sight. He gave us that voice, that smile, those crooked teeth...and He has a plan for every one of them.

He knows what He has placed inside of us and right now He needs us to tap into that power and pray like never before.

Until next time...

Be blessed

We Will Not Let Hate Win!

Greetings!

My post this week is all about spreading the love of God. I want to give light to the good part of us. There is so much emphasis being placed on the negative things that are going on right now that I just needed to remind myself of who I am and what I can do in my little corner of the world. Hopefully, it will also bless you in the process...

Don't get me wrong...I am not pretending that evil is not prevalent in our world right now...it definitely is. But I just believe it is more important that we don't give hate a platform. I believe there are some things we should hate. We should hate racism, discrimination, and abuse in any form. But we should not hate the person...we should hate the spirit of hate that is operating in our land right now. And the only way to defeat the enemy is to do it through the word of God. We have to know what the word says about us, about God and about the enemy. That's how we defeat the enemy. But first before we do anything else...we have to put God back in His rightful place.

God is our weapon against the enemy. I know it doesn't seem like it, but there are more of us than there are of them, it just seems like they have a louder voice. We can't be passive about this thing. We have to love people hard. We have to show them that there is a better way. The Bible says in 1 John 4:4 that He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world. Don't let the actions of a few lost souls make you think otherwise.

God says that we are overcomers...actually it says that we are more than conquerors...that we are victorious in Christ. There are three things we can do...

1. Start living like we believe it by walking in the authority that we have been given.
2. Start taking back territory for Christ by not being easily offended.
4. Start sharing the love of Christ with everyone.

I know that those things sounds simple, but that is how we make our mark on the world. The word says that we are to overcome evil with good (Rom. 12:21). The most powerful thing we can do is to pray mightily for those who hate us and remind ourselves daily that God is in control.

Until next time...

Be blessed

It is well.

Greetings!

I went to hear one of my sisters preach today, and she spoke about casting your cares. She spoke an on-time word and I don't know who else that word may have been for, but I definitely received it just for me. God hears our deepest thoughts...even those we choose not to speak aloud. He hears and He makes a way even before we know we need a way. And in the midst of her message, I realized that even though my life may be in transition, and some things are not where I wish they were...it is well with my soul.

I have learned a thing or three in this walk with the Lord. One, we make it way harder than it has to be. Two, God doesn't need our permission to do anything. Three, He loves us with an everlasting love. Life can be complicated. It reminds me of the scripture that talks about how Paul wants to do the right thing, but "evil is always present." We start out with high hopes of giving our lives to Christ and living in this spiritual bubble where we never make any more mistakes. That would be nice, but then how would we learn...or grow. We were not meant to be babies forever. We mature through our experiences.

I believe that most of us want to live an obedient life, but we still have to live in this world with other people who sometimes misuse us, mistreat us, and misunderstand us. God is saying in this day, don't worry about who may be for us or who may be against us...I AM and those who stand against us...stand against Him.

It is well with my soul because I know who I am in Christ. I know how much He loves me and I know His plan is to prosper everything that I touch. I trust the plan He has for my life and nothing in this world can change how He feels about me or how I feel about Him...and that's more than enough for me.

Until next time...

Be blessed
