The Christmas season is upon us...
I love this time of year. There is something about the air around Christmas time. Not the physical air, but the spiritual air. I know there are a lot of folks who want to be politically correct, but to me Christmas is all about the birth of Christ. You can believe in anything you want it doesn't change the fact that December 25th is the day we celebrate Jesus...
Christmas always makes me think of all my family, and friends. I love getting together and reminiscing about old times or enjoying the company of new acquaintances. We always want it to last forever, and then once the Christmas season is over we go back to the way things were before. What if we really worked on living all year the way we do at Christmas. I mean, wouldn't it be nice to smile for no reason or maybe help someone and not expect anything in return. Isn't that what God commands us to do? The word says we are to love God with all of our hearts and then love one another. What if we did that? What do you think the world would be like?
I know we can't change everything, but I do think we can change some things. In this new year, I am going to work on my relationships. I don't want to go into another year not letting the people I care about know how much I love them, and sharing that same love with the people I meet along the way.
I pray that no matter what situation you may be in today that you know how much God loves you and how much you mean to the body of Christ. Let's begin to love like Christ loves...and watch the difference it makes in the lives of the people around us.
