Teach me, Lord!

Greetings!

“Teach us to number our days that we may gain a heart of wisdom.” – Psalm 90:12, NIV

Every single day is a gift from God. No matter if it is a good day or a bad day…it is still a God day. We get so busy with life sometimes that we forget what is important.

It’s not that you couldn’t find anything to wear, or you didn’t have the breakfast you wanted, or somebody didn’t speak to you or smile at you. If we allow them to, those little things will rob us of our joy.

And, I know some of you are probably saying, “My issues are much bigger than that. If that’s all I had to worry about my life would be awesome.”  Even if that is so…if that thing is taking your mind off the power and the presence of God…then you still have some work to do. Stuff is going to happen. That’s how life is. But, our God says that His strength is made perfect in weakness. Someone texted me recently that, “If you know that God has His hands in everything, then you can leave everything in His hands.” I thought that was so good. We have to remember that God ordains each day. If we choose to focus on the wrong things, we will miss the blessing that each day brings.

Today, don’t let the precious moments of life pass by without acknowledging the awesomeness of our God. Don’t wait for holidays and birthdays to show people that you care. Remember, each day is unique and irreplaceable. Know that our time that can be invested or wasted; hours that can be used or misused. That’s why the psalmist prayed to God, “Teach us to number our days.” He was saying, “Teach us to value every moment we have been given.”
